Your initial evaluation is typically 60 to 75 minutes. We will do a comprehensive assessment of your movement, strength, and pain, discuss your goals and medical history, and develop a personalized treatment plan together. You will leave with a clear plan and often a home exercise program to get started right away.
The cash-based model allows us to focus entirely on your care rather than insurance paperwork and billing requirements. Here is what that means for you as a patient:
We do not bill insurance directly. However, we provide detailed superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement. Many patients with PPO plans receive partial reimbursement this way. We recommend calling your insurer before your first visit to ask about your out-of-network physical therapy benefits and deductible.
A superbill is an itemized receipt of services that includes diagnosis codes (ICD-10) and procedure codes (CPT codes). You submit it directly to your insurance company as a claim for out-of-network reimbursement. The process is straightforward:
In Florida, you can see a physical therapist without a doctor's referral for up to 30 days through direct access. After that, a physician referral is required to continue treatment. This means you can get started right away without waiting for a doctor's appointment.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows access to the area being treated, such as shorts for knee or hip issues, or a tank top for shoulder concerns. Bring any relevant imaging such as X-rays or MRIs, surgical notes or previous PT records, and your completed patient forms if you have not submitted them in advance.
